Pics

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Been Busy.  Sarah is wonderful! She knows about 20 words and understands everything.  She is very bright and active and very sociable.  She loves people!  Her favorite foods are cereal, bagels, avocados, bananas with peanut butter, strawberries, etc... the list goes on.  Her brothers love her and vice versa.  I can't say enough about how amazing she is and how adorable!

More pics!

She was very happy today.  I guess her teething gave her a break.  AND, she started walking on her own!  YAY!

More news!

Gabi was sick last night with stomach pains.  Luckily there is a doctor staying at the guest house who gave him medicine.  He's better now - just tired.  Sarah slept through the night from 8:30pm - 7am - exactly the hours my kids sleep! :)

He said she takes the photos of me and the boys and smooshes them up against her cheek and smiles.  How cute is that?!

She fits into 9 month size clothes and the 6-12 month size shoes are big on her!  She is in size 3 diapers which is what he brought for her.  She's eating jarred baby food.
She does scream and carry on when she's getting her diaper changed, but stops immediately when it's over.  She was crying for the phone when I called and I got to say a few words to her.  He was able to distract her with a toy so he could get the phone back.

He had somewhere to go for 2 hours this morning and had the babysitter watch her.  When he returned she immediately put her arms out for him to take her and smiled at him.

He also took a picture of him, her, and her primary caregiver.  He had her write Sarah a note and had it translated.  She gave Sarah a traditional Ethiopian dress, me a scarf, and Gabi a neck tie (I  think).  Very sweet of her.

He said the air quality is so bad there (pollution) that they wake up congested and cough up or blow their noses and black stuff comes out.  Yuck.  I can't wait for them to come home!

UPDATE from ADDIS!

I spoke with Gabi this morning and he is SO happy!  Sarah slept through the night and he even woke up before she did.  She is very sociable and he kept saying how AMAZING she is and how CUTE she is.

She's even calling him Daddy in Amharic!  Someone came up to him and said, "do you know what's she saying?  She's calling you Daddy!"  WOW!

I guess you could say they are successfully bonding.  :)

I could hear how happy Gabi is by his voice.  He is amazed by her and said things could not be going better!
