The wait continues
Because of holidays, everyone seems to be on vacation which holds things up. My social worker (love her!) said on Wed. the person will return from vacation and my homestudy should be finally approved then and sent to CIS (immigration). :) Gabi and I keep looking at pictures and YouTube videos of Ethiopia and adoption stories and we are so ready to have our little baby girl join the family.

Little update
Just a little update....spoke with my case worker today and she's till waiting for Gladney to send her our homestudy to finalize. She did say that NJ CIS (immigration) is fairly quick once we send it to them and shouldn't take long making our fingerprinting appts. and then approving them. That was encouraging because some states take months. I've been collecting documents all week for Gabi and I to notarize and send on to Kate for our Dossier. I'm feeling confident we will bring our daughter home before the courts close in August. :)
OH, one more thing - we are approved to accept a baby under 14 months old - which means we may get a referral for a 3 month old! It's all up in the air for now!

The wait continues...
We are happy to have received our rough draft of our homestudy, but are still awaiting the final draft from Gladney so we may send it to CIS to get fingerprinted. To bide our time, we have completed the 10 hours of adoption training and are working on our Dossier. I'm also obsessively needlepointing (something for Dad -ssshhhhh). Gabi wishes I was obsessively cleaning! :) (or cooking!) I hope to receive the final draft by the end of the week.

Ok, not much happening here
Although, I'm glad I did call the agency about our homestudy because I didn't know they are waiting for something from us. Now that's cleared up, I'm hoping to see our homestudy by the end of the week. I'm much more patient about this than I thought I would be... but it's still just the beginning.

She's probably already been born...
The fact that she is probably already born is amazing to me. Is she being cared for well? Is she warm, safe, and loved? Does she have brothers or sisters? A father?
Will we meet her family? Those who will wish her a bright future with us, yet be sad to see her go. Sadness mixed with relief.
These thoughts come to me daily as we wait. I cannot get rid of them nor would I want to.
Where are you, baby?

Some things about me...
My husband and I have 2 wonderful boys who will be 3 and 6 years old.
We thought we were done... but we're not!
Our little girl will be between 7 and 14 months old when we bring her home. :)
I thought I was computer savvy, but for some reason I can't figure out this blog site.
I am sooo much smarter now than I was when I thought I knew everything!
